CHIHUAHUA 139

COL. ROMA

Located within Mexico City’s eclectic Roma neighborhood, Chihuahua 139 is a mixed-use building that embodies Reurbano’s mission to revitalize the city’s central areas.

The commercial lots that are located on the building’s ground floor breathe new life into the street, making it a safer and more dynamic environment. The building’s first floor harbors a series of small office spaces, occupied by start-ups and entrepreneurs linked to culture and the arts. On the second and third floors, residential units in different sizes and typologies can accommodate a diverse range of tenants. Finally, the rooftop is used as an urban garden that grows fruits and vegetables to be consumed by the local community.

Chihuahua 139 is a gesture towards a direct kind of architecture, where the necessary elements are uncovered and everything dispensable is removed. Designed by renowned architecture studio Cadaval & Solà Morales, the project established harmony between the old and the contemporary.

Here at Reurbano, we understand the city as a living and mutable ecosystem that can be transformed through new social dynamics. By establishing a dialogue between built heritage and contemporary architecture, we develop spaces that generate value in their neighborhoods and a sense of belonging in their users.

With each of our projects, we seek to reactivate the space used by different models of social regeneration through urban architecture and design.
